I have plenty of issues with the game, many that don't show themselves until you reach Inferno. Mainly the fact that it? takes about 300+ of a primary stat to outweigh a DPS increase on weapons. Always online DRM is pretty stupid as well and should never be allowed. It's a fun game with friends but I cannot see myself playing it in the long term like I did with D2. Legendaries are also beaten by Blues at the moment for DPS, quite a strange design choice.

I? have no doubt that the game itself is fun and that I would enjoy immensely and we will have to see what the "jury" says about the RMAH when it goes live - but it's just very hard to see how they can do it without making it PtW. If I'm wrong I will buy it but I very much doubt it. Once again we see greedy companies that screws something up that had potential to be great but isn't because of greed. Agree with you 100%, allthough i bought the game regardless of the real money auction house, and so far i've enjoyed my time immensely. If the PvP system goes Pay-to-win i'll just quit the game. And the whole game has been designed around the AH, it seems that all the loot that you get ( that is good ) - never drops for the character that you are playing specificly. So they are encouraging you to use the AH.. so dumb. But the game is? still an amazing experience!

My comment was general about many games released over? the last couple of years and not just specifically about Lone Survivor. Even so, I do not assume anything about the quality of this game specifically. It might be the best horror game ever. I was strictly speaking about the "8-bit" looking graphics style of this AND all modern games which use it. As I said, these type of graphics were surpassed in the mid 80's.There's a good reason for why they didn't survive past the late 80's (most part)

Well this was developed by a relatively small group of people. I heard Jasper himself risked almost everything even his own health to make this game.? Graphics shouldn't matter in a game, just as long as you can identify different objects. I played the demo, and the atmosphere and gameplay was very interesting and it does get scary. i would suggest playing the demo at Kongregate(dot)com, I'm sure there's other places you could try it out but that's where I got the demo.

I am getting tired of the "8-bit" looking graphics. I wasn't a fan of them in the 80's, I am not crazy about them today. They were surpassed in the mid 1980's with 16bit machines like the Amiga and the Atari ST. Don't get me wrong, I am glad we are moving away from the "flash"? looking graphics that most independent games seemed to love the last couple of years, but... The game looks interesting though I am not a big fun of the control obstacles thrown to the player in such games.

Is it a game ONLY for hardcore sim fans or? can other people apply also - that's the type of info I would love to get and the review doesn't quite give me that. Your reviews are really solid, and the videos themselves are really good quality and well-edited, which is why I subscribed a while back. They definitely deserve more attention. My only real criticism of sorts, as trivial as it might be, is that every time I see "Elder Geek," "Elder Speak," etc., I always relate it initially? to something Elder Scrolls. Every time. Gah!

It's probably because Germans love their economy and trade sims ... and Port Royale 3 is made by the same guys as the last Patrician iteration ... Anno on the other hand was originally designed by the Lasser brothers from Austria and the more recent titles in the series are developed by Related Designs and produced by Blue Byte also german companies ... sure the games are quite similar but while Anno seems to focus more on the settlements and Port Royale on the? trading aspect

The economics of the game is also really simple because you can just autotrade nearly everything. I beat the single player campaign while only manually trading the objective? markers. It's a really really unengaging game and I can honestly say it's not even worth a try, just don't bother.

So you ignore the part about? it being a single-unit to control and the light googling it took to find out that CoH does use resources, nice one. The A isn't pointless because it defines a different genre, hence the term Action Real Time Strategy game, that's like saying the "Death" in Death Metal is pointless because it's still metal. And no not all of the games are referred to as DotA esque after all DoTA itself is an AoS esque game, and by your logic AoS would be a better choice to name it.

Yes I have played AoS. Notice the terminology you used "people did" something tells? me that it changed because not all FPS games are like Doom, just like not all ARTS games are like AoS or DOTA. Have you ever played Aeon Of Strife? It doesn't even resemble DoTA. Maybe DoTA was based on it, but in the progress it changed so much to completely make a new genre of game. And people did actually call FPS games at first doom games. Thirdly, what exactly differentiates ARTS from normal RTS? Aren't? they both action heavy? Doesn't Starcraft 2 include action? Why add the A?

And technically every game is a Real Time Strategy game because you need strategy in real time to figure out what you need to do. ARTS is the best option for the DotA type games is because most people will think of a semi-top? down view, with right clicking to move, attacking individual units and microing your units. Instead of microing an entire army you only control 1-6 units at any given time thus making it more of an action game, at least that's how I see it. Maybe Hero-RTS could work.

I agree that ARTS in and of itself isn't a very good name, considering diablo? could be called an ARTS if you defined it loosely enough. Finding a good name that can define the genre, even to someone who has a very marginal understanding of games, is pretty hard, especially if we want to keep it simple enough to not end up like Trance-Orchestral-Melodic-Technical-Death Metal. So far only the term ARTS portrays the genre in a way that you can actually visualize what it is without much explanation.

ARTS only sounds pretentious because you associate the acronym A.R.T.S. with the word Arts. The reason I advocate ARTS over MOBA is because the term RTS means something to the game, it describes it which is what a genre title is supposed to do, in this case it's an Action game using some Real Time Strategy mechanics, changing the wording would just be confusing. In your suggestion, RTAS, why have RT in there at all when we can assume that an? action game will be real time already?

Online: Well most multiplayer games nowadays are online so kind of pointless but sure. Battle: So what type of battle, shooting, mech fights card battle? There are bot? matches, but the game is very shallow if you play it this way exclusively. I would not recommend Awesomenauts if you don't plan on playing online.

From what I've read, the reason they didn't bother with a single player is that there are already at least 2 warband mods set in this era. That, and MM Russia aka Mount and Musket (The original mod before NW), was a very popular multiplayer only mod, and? had no original single player to speak of. Buying Warband buys you HUNDREDS of both single player, multiplayer, and gameplay/graphics mods.

Let me say something, all the points in this video made are pretty much valid. But what it fails to mention is this. The game is pretty much based around? the community, the clans (regiments) in this game make the public servers so much more fun to play on. And then there is of course the community events (linebattles) which are some of the most amazing game matches I've done in my life.

You need Mount & Blade: Warband in order to get Mount & Blade: Napoleonic Wars. Warband is a FANTASTIC game by itself (I currently have 50+ hours on it), so every single penny you spend on the $20 (Warband)? plus the $10 (Napoleonic Wars) is worth it.

The developers aren't keen on making a single player simply because it doesn't fit to the era well. I've been playing NW and it's predecessor MM for nearly 2 years and haven't come across many games that deliver singleplayer battles in such an epic spectrum and time period. If you are looking for a high quality modification set in this era,? search "L'Aigle Mod" on steam. It's currently in development but it's looking very promising.

You really not have given people? hope of a multiplayer community. This is supposed to be a single player game, and it really has nothing to make people go to it for multiplayer over Assault Squad. What I would suggest, is that if you play a few of these multiplayer battles and enjoy it, get assault squad. It is definitely worth it.

I'mn surprised in your playthrough? you didn't get annoying crashes. On the third mission my game crashed at which point I was forced to reinstall the game and start from scratch. Then the same bug occured on the fourth mission with the same advice "reinstall and start over." There seems to be a problem where the game files are easily corrupted from playing the game itself.

I would prefer if you could resupply like blitzkrieg you took a? truck click on an ability and it would rearm all soldier/vehicles/guns around. Or click on a unit and set him to find ammo that would help and be so user friendly

If you're new to this series and thinking of buying... i would recommend Men of War Assault Squad, not only is this where the online community is, but it features Japan,Britain,America as well as the Soviets and Germans. Brilliant? series and a must have for any RTS fan in my personal opinion.

It's nice to see games like this are still coming out. As far as i'm concerned though, nothing has so far beaten Close Combat 3 + the huge range of mods, when it comes to eastern front RTS. CC3 might look basic, but wow does that game know depth and immersion.?

in some scenarios, you get an ammo truck. But for the most part, you'll need to scrounge for ammo if you're? running low. good part is though, you can keep your own weapons and just simply pick up the ammo that applies to your weapon type (i.e. SMGs, rifles, etc.)
