subwoofers are ran just by the 110 watts x 2channels but they sound pretty good when I turn the bass up. The polk towers are ran at 4ohm per 2 towers on 1 channel so its getting 2ce the power but the reciever heats up? at very loud volume because of that. The receiver is a Pioneer VSX-921-K 7.1chan

I paid 55 for the other 2 of them each because they were open? box on newegg. That deal only lasted about 5 minutes lol. One speaker on the open box sounded like the voice coil was rattling in there so polk sent me a new speaker for free with no arguments at all. Now that was a sick deal. Idk where u can get a tower for 55$ by a decent name brand

The problem with a home stereo system is that 200 watts is not even high enough to cool? the subwoofer down by it moving back and forth. Its basicly heating up the coil with low movement so its hard for the coil to cool down without it breathing. Its like a toaster , if you blow on the red coil in a toaster the red goes down all the way.

They are littlery $40.00 if I can remember for the 15" sdc's , I stright dropped? my jaw when they said the prices of the recones. They said they dont make harldy a dime on the recones because they want customers to be happy as can be and overpower there subwoofers if they wanted too. Its perfectly fine to overpower subs aslong as its a clean signal and you dont play them 247. If they start to smell you know you are playing them too hard/2 big of a box/ distored signal = heat

Tuning higher will get better results on the lab and contests. Tuning higher will also sound way better in all songs. The only songs that will sound good is the custom low note songs . Which there is not many of. I made that mistake back in the day tuning to 30hz and then building? a box at 37hz and those loud songs just played louder. I also know that tuning low will cause damage to the subs , thats why aq recomends 37hz or higher at high watts

I forgot to mention run the big 3 in wire under your hood , 0g all the way from batt to amp then amp to batt. Costs more but its the way to do it trust me. Sheet? metal does not hold current like wire does. Also the 200amp fuse will do good since they do not have a fuse in the amp. Go with 2 batterys . You can use car batterys if your really low on money but try to get deep cycle.

I wouldnt recomend alpine type x subwoofers for their pound per buck. Go with aq or get 4 kicker l5's. Look up the wiring diagram for your subwoofers to wire them down to 1ohm , I got lucky and they sat at 1.3ohm , They usually will sit higher than 1ohm when you wire them together which is a good thing from not? running the amp too low. The amp was fine running it that low. I would recomend a seperate battery. Not a cap! and just be easy on your gain till you break in the subs

I wanted to upgrade to different subs (alpine type x), but the ones i would be buying are dual 4 ohm coils, meaning i can run the amp at 4ohm or 1ohm.? Im guessing around 2000rms or more. Its fine for that amp. Its a robert zef design, he doesnt build crap that cant put out a shit load of power. You should see the internals on it. Amp held up at full tilt, never ever turned off or went into protect. The only problem was that the subs could bairly handle it at full tilt. Started to get a smell going but coils are still nice and copper color. If? they were any lower brand subs pushing almost double rated then they would have been fried

Yeah i didn't see anything about how i should tune these subs really so i used the tuning i would normally use. but it wasn't untill later that i saw i shoulda gone with something a lil higher with these subs. eh ill try it out for a while i try to stick? 30-35 hz with tuning just cause its where i personally like it. the lower the better for me in my opinion. I was worried about the box being big and over powering the sub.

Theres no way they will go poof with 600rms. They are safely rated at 600rms with a clean signal. I was pushing 900rms dirty and distorted to mine and the coils are still copper , also they are in a huge oversized box . If I remember correctly they are in a 5.5 cf box tuned to 37 hz . I will be sticking with aq till I go Pooof lol. Btw 32hz is pretty low of a tone. They? play best around 37 I was told by the owner and website says something about it.

nice! got me an AQ sdc 15 a while ago been breakin it in off maybe 200 watts on a home theater system and im kinda worried my box is too big. 4.3 cu tuned to 32hz the magnet was warm after about 10 mins of playin full blast like it wasnt hot or anything? and the coil still has a nice copper tone to it just im worried that when it gets 600rms it will go poof....

Sweet. Ill be waiting to view that. Just be pretty carefull on the watts. Ive put 2000rms to them so far and they began to stink a tiny bit over 10 seconds on a 30hz test tone.There not crazy in taking power and cooling but for the price you cant beat it. Most brands of subs start to stink on there rated rms. These deff can take over there rated 600. I bet its? just because my box is too big . A smaller box would hold up with the 1000rms all day. Recones are so cheap im not worried

Tuned to 37hz including the sub area, and double walls. Box is 11cf :O .The back is double walled, bottom double and sides doubled. The front has bracing with some double peices in there for extra support. Its nothing special but better than just 3/4th inch thick. Cawked and ready to put in the truck tomorrow.

Cool are you going to put your build up and test the subs on video? I subscribed for it. 11cf for both subs is 1cf bigger than the 4.5cf they call for? each at the largest. That wasnt? me lol, the box isnt anything special. I threw it together and put some double walls in there and some bracing. It was cheap wood just to get me by before the blazer. Other wood would have cost me over 100 since the walls are so big on it, I could only get one big peice per sheet.

App called generator it creates any tone from 20hz up to 20,000hz and its the best one out so far. The 20hz tone isnt supposto be loud it just moves some air. Doesnt shake anything too crazy but I couldnt put it on a higher tone due to neighbors bitching. Ill get a better vid up of this app. It was just a quick little demo.

loudness is on, bass is turned all the way up on EQ, but when i go to SUB.W (L/O mode on)? settings to adjust subwoofer frequencies nothing seems to be working there when i scroll subwoofer option HIGH LOW MED it doesn't change the way it sounds and also the sub volume dosn't do anything.

turn loud on, um turn bass up. etc. if that doesnt work then i have no more answers for your bc it should deff work very good . My system hit hard with those on even though it was distorted a tiny bit with the? loud on option.

to get low hz out of mids/highs, you need a HPF. (high pass filter). ajust the HOF to around 50hz, what way? everything below 50hz will be only produced through the subwoofer line.

go to a station you want. hold the middle volume button in for a few sec untill it beeps then click the preset number you want for the station and click it in again. The buttons on the very? left up and down will change your station. And your done. Also there are instructions on jvc.com you can download quick.

I was wondering if you had to buy one. I have a '05 Grand Am and they said you need one to retain your chimes and keep from having check engine light errors due to no longer having a stock radio. But since your ride is a '98 I guess this was before GM made it so you need to buy something? extra in order to use an aftermarket radio so it doesn't cause a glitch in your vehicle. Either way I still plan on getting one and nice setup you got.

I never knew that a 98 s10 had door chimes or warning chimes. If they did I wouldnt want them anyways.? I didnt buy a harness for the deck , I wired it myself with crimpers and connects. And I didnt notice anything differently. Its very easy to do , just find a stereo wiring diagram for your model/year and save 20$

I got this stereo about a month ago. I have Rockford Fosgate t500-1bd amp with prefab box of 2 P2's 12 inch. I have it on natural EQ setting. I have the amp half way on gain with bass boost off on amp. It is very loud on these setting with CD at volume 20. I also got kenwood mid speaker up front, with? tweeters on top of doors. So it sounds sweet to the crappy Sony XPlod deck I had before.

Kickers bangin out with a little more gain for break in period

ill tell you the truth. Its not asphalt, based. Its rubber based. The other stuff called...w/e im drunk right now I dnot remember is asphalt based and It still does not smell . My friend bought it from lowes. That could be due to the cold / hot weather? But it deff just smells like rubber and has no smell after you put the head liner back up. You could have gotten the smell comments from people that live down south in florida . But still I dont think it would bug you that much.?

My dash is very hard and thick too. I havent even checked for windsheild flex yet. Ill have to do that in the daytime and not around here. People from almost a block away walked to my house to tell me that my? system was bugging there customers. Its a 98 4x4 s-10
