I now have the official 2.3.5 final version and is working fine. I've made an install video but haven´t uploaded it yet. Basically, to? install the final version the process is the same. If the phone gets stuck after a few minutes and nothing happens, the trick is to remove the battery, wait some 30 seconds and repeat the process all over again.

Have no? ideia.

MrRickyay08 now is out the offical release. I did the same in the video but with the offical release.But there was a bad part,? my battery fell out while the update and I bricked my phone, but then to unbrick I had to do the update without the battery :D

Yes you can flash back to stock Froyo. You can see my video "How to Flash A Galaxy S Phone back to Stock Froyo". Samsung has not officially? released Gingerbread yet. It is expected to start rolling out next month. JVK 2.3.3 is quite close to the final release and reasonably stable.

It's a custom firmware/ROM. Basically you have to get root access to the phone, then install a thing called clockworkmod recovery, and then you just install the rom. Not quite as simple as it sounds. Lots of tutorials. Quite? easy if you read everything well. It SHOULD be an official update, lol .

No.Factory reset will not un-root? your phone.It won't "fix" your phone if you get stuck in the middle of the process which is VERY VERY unlikely to happen if you follow all the steps.Factory reset is for wiping all the apps/data and linked Gmail information."Rooting" is done in "administrative" level and has higher privileges than factory reset.

I'm waiting for the stock 2.2.1 firmware to be released on Kies.. Everyone else seems to be getting it, but I live in Kuwait and the program says that 2.2 is the latest.. anyone know of a list of which countries are getting the update?? The Samsung dealer here wasn't? helpful..

And thus they'd have to implement these vector calculations on the GPU, rather than on the CPU, which is a lot more difficult. Add to that the larger power usage of doing more calculations and they - Google and Apple - probably decided it wasn't worth it. But it would be nice to hear from someone who knows more about it, cause it'd look super cool if it? was able to do it :D.

I've thought about the resizing thing you mention as well. Ie. that it doesn't resize fonts real-time when zooming in and out on webpages, but rather enlarges them like a? JPEG image is enlarged, and not "vector based" as you say. I personally think it would simply require too many calculations to resize the fonts real-time, if it's even possible. I'm sure the GPU would have to be used for this - the CPU is simply not fast enough to accomplish that many calculations that fast. damn 500 char limit

You are right with a full vs empty phone, however the stock 2.2 was not much quicker, maybe? a few seconds max. The variance for me was the external media checker which crippled the phone on froyo - it boots faster and isn't as crippled during that shorter scan. Powering off also was roughly the same in my past few updates too, but you're right that its subjective and not scientific :) fyi, the 2.2 was switched on, with internet the only app used before the 2.2 video started.

you can visually demonstrate the power down by pressing menu/back/whatever buttons, and they stay lit till the vibrate. Also comparing bootup/shutdown times on a phone full of apps vs a phone with nearly no apps is not really? a proper test given the shutdown is also closing various running applications (background etc). But I get your point. Try taking a titanium backup and get a friends phone and do a side by side if you can ;-)

There's not much differece in speed of web browsing.. the difference happen in the ? speed of ur fingers which one of them touch's faster... maybe cuz u use ur right hand often so it touch's faster.....
