Tema sonoro perfetto per un capolavoro assoluto! Premi strameritati per tutti, compreso il cane! I veri cinefili hanno sempre lodato il cinema muto in nero e qui sta proprio la ragione: basta vederlo; non occorrono spiegazioni!! Infatti necessitava grande arte recitativa; molta espressività; poi: il bianco-nero immergeva subito nell'onirico; sollecitava la fantasia perché bisognava immaginarsi i dialoghi. S'è perso tantissimo col cinema moderno: l'arte vera e soprattutto la poesia!?

I love this music.. I've seen all of the 5 movie that had a score nominated for an oscar, as well as listened to the soundtracks. and id have to say i wouldve given it to? either Howard Shore for Hugo or John Williams for War Horse. Nothing wrong with this soundtrack. i just personally felt they were better

uh i think you are not getting it :D? painting accurately and "pretty" today is not a big deal. having the idea to express something in a new way is quite more important. It is not just the guy disappearing in the image, it's all of us merging into the consumer's society and i think that is what he is trying to express. "try to read between the lines" lol

Insanely good movie. Awesome to see a silent film about a silent him star struggling in an audible movie industry getting nominated for so much. It really says something about our society,? and our opinions toward art. It's used as a way for the audience to get inside the mind of Valentin. Valentin's world is silent and we are introduced to him at a? turning point. Hollywood is going to the "talkies" and leaving Valentin, who is prideful and unwilling to change, to the wayside. It is only when Valentin puts his pride aside and accepts the new way of things that the audience is able to hear the characters speaking.

The Artist is a magnificent film with a big heart, and a brave filmmaking attempt by the director, producers, actors and everyone involved in creating it. This film is a strong reminder of what cinema in its pure and simple (and not simplistic) form can do and give to an audience, that is the magic of motion picture! Side note: After seeing the amazing talented? dog in the film, one could well say, who needs a CGI dog anyway.

I think people need to understand, it did not win because it is the BEST movie but because it was refreshing. A good chuckle with the world gone so wrong now to? remind us of simpler times. But I like the Help. I can understand why people would want it to win :)

The acting is poor, to many overreactions, just unnatural. The characters are unlikable but that is just my subjective thinking, ignore this. Music? is also very poorly matched to the situation that is occurring, and it sounded almost the same in every scene. Words should appear more often but in dialogues that are actually important.
