its the ips technology, all ips lcd tvs and lcd monitors i've used have the weird issue with black levels i've? tried VA panels and plasma panels and they do a much better job with the black levels I? ended up selling my 42ld450 and getting a Sony EX400 instead which does a much better job with black levels

check the avs forums xxld450 thread its linked at bottom when you click Show? More. There's advantages/disadvantages depending on panel you get. LG IPS panel for this model tv has poor black levels which makes movie watching somewhat annoying as black levels are too bright but no ghosting and very clear text and objects onscreen. AUO VA has minor ghosting in dark scenes and text and objects might not have the definition the IPS panel BUT black levels much better.

it does blur but doesn't ghost blurring, hard to see picture clearly when frame moves, this happens but not as bad as other 60hz sets i've seen. I think all 60hz LCD/LED blur thats why 120hz/240hz technologies were added to alleviate that. ghosting, objects within picture especially dark scenes have a trail effect around them, the IPS version of this tv does NOT do this check avs forums, I linked it to bottom of details, theres more info on IPS panels and input lag? of this tv

The video didn't help me as much as the information on the IPS screen. Once I looked them up, I realized the difference between the top 3 brands I was looking at(Sony, LG,? Samsung). Thanks. I went with the LG450 with an IPS screen. Perfect for gaming, no ghosting.

This television is very very fast because of the IPS screens. I do not notice motion blur in Final Fantasy 13 or Wipeout HD. The Samsung I? saw on display with Wipeout did have a lot of motion blur in comparison, and was my deciding factor on this LG450

@kueef LG screens are sort of in between Sony and Samsung. Sony is extremely matte, and Samsung is very reflective glass(but gives the illusion of depth). So yea, my 42LD450 is somewhere in between, more on the matte? side, but a little bit more reflective than a Sony.

I got this tv 2 months ago from Dixons, well worth the price of £375 (I think it was that anyway as it has gone down quite a bit now) though the built in freeview is not freeview HD so to make it come to life you will need an external hd box or wireless system for netflix or blue ray, etc. The LG HX906PA 5.1Ch 3D Blu-ray Home Cinema System is a wise choice at its the best looking of? the LG 5.1 systems I think, and one of the most powerful.

the width of mine is 35 i think, the problem with the panel is its? a lottery game which panel u will get, but the ips seem to be the common one, i made sure i could return mine if i wasnt happy. i was suprised about how well the tv copes with 60hz, was worried because its not 100hz but it handles sports and movies so well

Yeah I rather have the lack of game lag than strong blacks anyday. But if ur ordering online, how do you know if you getting either panel? Well damn I will be getting the 2011 model (LK series) if I decide on LG 42". So how the 60hz with movies and sports as well? I hear the? 2011 60hz model has a 4 ms response time compared to 40" Sony 6ms, which should be pretty decent, right? And ur 37", whats the width of urs?

the ips panels only weak point is the weak blacks from my experience, think the only other panel u get with this tv is the? AUO panel which has good blacks but lags with games. i would sacrifice black levels for smooth gameplay anyday. the stand holds my tv nicely. if u push the tv or rock it back n forward it does wabble but it takes force to do that, the tvs heavy enough to prevent any thing to wobble it. i would go for the cheaper option to invest in speakers cos sound is poor on it

I was scared of the image burn, and I do a lot of gaming, and I have nothing, no probleme, at first you can have some ghost effect for 1-2 sec, but once you brake your tv (around 100hours) than you have nothing, of course I never tried? to just leave the same image for hours

Blacker is better but only the really expansive tv's got really darker blacks (for lcd), also LG deliver nice image with dvd's and blue ray. My self I only watch dvdrip movies (movies I download) and I watch it threw my xbox360 with hdmi connection, and the quality is realy good, I had a small budget so I went for the plasma tv (wich as good dark black compare to lcd) it cost me 550 dollar and play wonderfull? with hd games aswell.

This video is indeed help me decide on getting this television. It is amazing for gaming. Any "ghosting" you THINK you see is due to youtube, because this is the quickest TV under 1,000 bucks easily. The Samsungs and Sony TV's have a different type of panel, and make up for ghosting with software. In "gaming" mode, to decrease input lag, they turn off all this processing, so they ghost all over the place. This LG does not ghost at all. I am? 100% happy with this tv.

ok although i said it before: i have a philips magnavox universal remote. i programmed it to work with my tv. on the remote i have a prog/ guide button. when you press it, tv will ask for password, in? my case is 0413 (latest firmware). the service menu will appear. go to tool option3 and change divx value to 1. I usually game on console but I also have some FPS games on my PC and I? find the movement between mouse and the on screen gun/curser to be very smooth.Zero lag.Let me put it another way.I`m thinking of upgrading to a bigger LED TV so I`m asking exactly the same questions you are but I love my LG 450 so much I`m wondering if I should stick with what I have ^.^

Ah that's good to know? then, cheers bud :) Just out of curiosity though, is there a noticeable delay between say moving your mouse and having it move on screen? Some TVs can be terrible for it and it makes them more or less useless as monitors since hand-eye coordination makes it really difficult to get the mouse exactly where you expect it to go when there's a delay with the screen hehe.

I`ve got this TV (LG 42LD450) and I`m using my PC on it right now.Its excellent for all formats.Console gaming,Blu Ray or PC are very clear and easy on? the eye.Hope this helps ^.^

I'm trying to hunt down the 42LD450..Since i here the newer 2011 model the 42'LK'450 is a tiny bit worse with the lag. I've got the 37LH30 from 09' and it's hands down one of thee' greatest LCD's to game on since the input lag is next to impossible to even notice it's that good and I've been gaming on CRT's for centuries.The only? downside like with all LCD's is motion blur, which plasma obviously has the advantage in along with black levels. But LCD's got that amazing brightness and no glare. ;)

Nice video, im currently just looking in the market for a new Tv but maybe not till while. But? good to start looking early to get a good idea. Current Tv's only 1080i and with Pc gaming you notice that a lot compared to PS3 gaming as i've found out. So after getting a new GPU i'm going to compliment that with a nice Full HD Tv. How does 60Hz effect Tv quality? I've seen TV's with 100 to 600Hz so im not sure what this really means.

Con el mando One for All 4 lo hice, una vez que esta programada para la TV muy facil. Apretar la tecla Magic una vez , después poner 00018, saldrá el cuadro para poner el código de acceso, pones 0000 y boila! Ir a option 2 TOOL OPTION 3 y alli cambiar Divx de 0 a 1
