Great video but I must say I am really bummed at the moment. All the older vids I have seen on this camcorder showed it at around $320.00US but it seems that now it is at $995.00. Same camera, just a year or two too late for me.HD with? an ecterna mic and manual controls for 300 bucks was a dream for me, alas, not to be.

worth having a look at this film : in HD and? the first time I'd used it...on a 12 mile run through mud and swamps. Quick rinse off afterwards and it is absolutely fine...it does feel strange washing it though!

seriously dude, you use the string they gave you and you can't lose the lens cap :P i've had it for a while and it has done a great job protecting the lens. you're right, the microphone placement was a bit too over zealously? done, hard to vlog if you don't have a tripod, the audio is crap or you gotta hope you have yourself properly in the shot =/

I have a question about this product. How is the sound recoding? I want to use it in clubs and at festivals, so the sound recording has to be good. Talking about 100 db without failing to get the bass/lower frequencies also in good quality. I? want a proper quality when I play it on the computer.

No - no filter thread at all - why did I buy one then? The lens at full wide is the same as a 35mm camera with a 35mm wide-angle lens - in other words, you don't really need one unless? you're looking for the fisheye effect.

Perhaps you could be more specific. Where are you "uploading" this video to? if it is a site like youtube, facebook, etc.. You should not need to convert it at all. The only reason I needed to convert them was to open them in a video editing program. But now I switched to a Mac running final cut and? I no longer need to convert them for any reason.

Just purchased this video recorder but I am having problems uploading the videos. I have converted the mp4 to wmv and then uploaded but still not working. I downloaded SUPER you talked about and did a conversion to avi, wmv then put into windows movie maker and then saved again to PC and tried to upload again. Still does not work. When you convert in SUPER what setting do you use as I want to use WMM to add info. I did finally get one video up but? took 1 day of starting and stopping upload.

from what i can work out, the mp4 files work with adobe premier cs3. im not a expert on codecs? and filetypes but if the mp4s the cam produces are the same as the mp4s you can download off of google video, there should be no problem any ideas?

I'm currently using the video function on? my 3 year old Sony Cybershot camera (just your standard 640x480 quality videos) and the videos that it records are better quality than the Sanyo VPC-TH1, the video is more clear and sharper. I decided to go ahead and buy one yesterday.£199 from Currys,also got a 8gb SDHC card for £19.99 too.I'm mainly going to be recording indoors, so that's where I've been trying it out. IMHO it's not a great camera. I have a very bright light in my bathroom and even in? their the picture came out grainy and flickering. I've tried it in the HD mode, the 640x480 30fps & 60fps - all poor. I haven't tried it outside in natural light, but that's not what I got it for. Going to get a £400+ cam instead

Crappy image stabilization makes this horrible for point and shoot style videos. However it does have a? few nice things to offset that. The cold shoe and jack for an external microphone are a bonus. Plus it has a flash for stills. Decent camera, but I wish I had gotten something else in the end.

Wow,? pretty cool camera. Two disappointing things about this model: 1) Proprietary connections, that's annoying. Who wants to keep up with 4 different adaptors. i use it for skating and its great. the only thing about it is you cant use a fisheye for it. other than that its great. i like how it? can take the picture during film too. you can also pause a clip you took and make it a picture. i do that alot
