I haven't played Prototype 1 on any platform, but I'll take your word for it, for me at least this kind of performance is a huge turn off, I love 60FPS and Vsync. I guess this is what happens with sandbox type games, unlike scripted corridor shooters or racers you don't have the same control of what's on the screen at any time, so it's easier to go over the resource budget and they were obviously pushing it already, there really is a lot going on considering the? hardware it runs on.

Its not that bad, there's always so much on screen you don't notice the tearing, sometimes you see the frame rate drop but isn't that to be expected for all the pushing it's doing to the hardware? The Tearing is NOWHERE NEAR the disgrace of Prototype 1 on Ps3 though, THAT was unplayable, merely spinning the camera around was tear tear tear all over the place, and? lagging textures.
