Installing Debian on the N900. FilmsByKris.com WARNING!!! I say in the video that you can use Debain and since it's in a chroot you don't need to worry about screwing up your Maemo OS. This is mostly true. But, you can still access your Maemo OS partition so you can still screw files up. So, still be careful.

Although Debian does have Cell Phone dialling Programming in it's repositories, I really don't see why you would do that when there is a perfectly good Dialler already on the phone. Is there something you don't like about the default dialler?

@jacksparr0w300: I would say the N900 is a current phone, but other then that I believe there are some Android phones you can install it on. ? It's just a little more complicated because you have to root the phone and do a few more steps to get it working. And since android phones don't run Xorg, if you want to run a GUI app, you need to VNC back into itself. In reality, Debian can run on any ARM device, it's just a matter of how many restrictions the phone manufacturer put on the phone.

@hitmankvt: Did this just start or have you had this problem since you got the phone? If it just started, think back to any changes you made around the time of when it started. I have personally have not had this problem so I don't think I'll be much help. Your best bet would be to ask for help in the N900/Maemo forums. That way you'll have a lot of people to help you and not just me. And maybe some one there has had the same problems as you and may know? how to fix it.

there is a problem with my n900 while taking pictures and recording videos ! i have to restart the phone every time to click an image .. once i capture it , it stays fixed to that image and does not go back to the camera mode ! also there is no sign of the captured? image in any of the folders !! as for the video , the recording does not even start in video mode,, just as i click on rec button .. it getrs stuck , hangs ! please help as i really need to sort this out !!

I never really used that feature, I just wanted to see if I could. I know that aircrack? works with out the advanced kernel, but it can't do packet injections. Origin and Battelog is SO FUCKING RETARDED. They really fucked up the game. You can't even text/voice communicate in CO-OP. Which is pretty stupid if you ask me. Origin is filled with so many problems it's not even funny. They're so arrogant they think they're too? good for Steam At least Steam can connect to servers without experiencing problems. Origin on the other hand, If i try to join any of the COOPs it loads for 5 minutes then disconnects me. Fuck origin and fuck EA's irrational decisions.

and the worst shit of all, heres an example; you join a bf3 server and they havnt really pointed out what weapons to be exact wich are restricted. BAM and your game shuts down.. now u have to reload the game n everything.. again, instead of just a simple textmsg like othergames? "youv'e been kicked". I am pretty sure that Alien Dalvik is a hoax. Has? anyone seen them demo any other Android apps than that same Photoshop thing, even with the same picture on the N900 every time... They show you icons of other apps but why not the apps themselves? My theory: they have implemented a native fake version of the app for the N900 (as a concept demo) and that they are trying to get funding for the company "to finish the product".

Well, besides that bit about the hardware comparison (HTC Legend is just ARM11, HCGA; not ARM Cortex A8, WVGA as the N900, Milestone 1 might have been fair for that) this is really impressing.
