Youve obviously never heard of "limp wrist" with semi-auto pistols, where the person firing it does not put enough of their weight behind the pistol, causing the slide to not cycle properly and results in a jam. This is taught at BASIC pistol courses. Same thing can be applied to semi-auto rifles; she has piss-poor stance, her head is snapping back like she's taking a punch.

Garands may not fail as often as semi automatic rifles of the era, but they can and do fail. This is an indisputable fact. So whether you've shot Garands for 60 or 50 years is irrelevant and doesn't nullify this fact. I very much highly doubt her stance had anything to do with the failure. I've never heard of a semi automatic rifle experiencing this type of failure because of incorrect stance. If the Garand could blow up from? improper stance, then I don't think it would have been issued at all.

20 years of experience with M1's, from collector grades to rebuilds to abused. Never had a problem. 20 years. Literally hundreds of Garands. What? happened here was one of two things. 1, a "squib round", one that was loaded with too little gun powder so the bullet did not exit the barrel, and when another shot was fired they slammed into each other. 2, the bolt did not seat properly; either a result of neglecting the firearm or from the female not leaning into her shots (see video above).

Weird, it looks? like an out of battery discharge. That is unfortunate because the M1 Garand is designed to not fire unless fully in battery. The bolt camming lug must have been worn out or out of spec. I hope you were okay and hopefully didn't let this accident ruin shooting for you.

Not in battery. Always allow the action to slam the bolt home (while pointing the gun in a safe direction to prevent? a "slam" fire accident). This goes for M1 Carbine, M1A, Mini 14, and any other rotating bolt type semi-automatic or automatic action. To the uploader: you didn't slam the bolt forward, you retarded the bolt movement about an inch and then let go.

That's what happens when you fire after a squib, or you fire commercial .30-06 that isn't specifically loaded for the M1 Garand using? the stock gas piston nut, it may not happen the first round or the second, but it will happen. The gun certainly had as much recoil as the last rounds fired, so it is likely not a squib, but quite possibly an over load, if it was reloaded ammo, or the person was shooting commercial .30-06 Springfield.

Ah, what an eye-opener this gem is. During the dance, you really understand the root of the problem. It's not about gay people against? straight people, or vice versa.
