All luck the way and angle the phone drops too. I've dropped my Lumia 900 at about 3 feet off the ground and it's perfectly fine(i've dropped it 4 times to date). The only thing I noticed is the top right screen makes a noise when I apply pressure. Anyway sorry to hear about your Lumia but I wouldn't hate it because of that since iPhones and Androids would've had? the same result if not worse if it fell the same exact way. The quality material of other phones are not on par with Nokia.

i think Samsung is always a winner here.They supply components to? Apple/Sony (i.e iOS devices) , they make Android as well as Windows Phone Devices and also Bada , Whichever OS is nice (at that particular time) , they push that OS more , currently samsung is on Android stream , then If Windows Phone moves more forward they push Windows more than Android etc. Great Company though......... Dude i have many phone with hi res HTC Desire, SGS, iPhony with its retina display and believe me ... text look real tiny very hard to read but on my Omnia 7 text is very big and clear easy to read i don't need to keep ? zooming in to read text and it isn't pixelated either . it's like windows.. you put in hi res, text become real tiny (especially if you're leaning back on your chair) with low res text become big and clear.

I have a lumia 900 , i don't regret buying it ,? and i do love it , however windows phone needs some tweaks like global search in the system , trying to look for a specific song is annoying. Also wish i could pin all the photo albums into a single tile , apps have a 3-6 second splash screen that's unneeded , and at least give me the option to customize the color of the tiles with a color wheel , i want yellow tiles , give them to me . Other than that i love windows phone .

Would've liked an example of what's 'clunky' about the operation of the device. I've come from Maemo5 to? MeeGo-Harmattan, then an extensive period with Android and now WP7. I love the way I don't need an app for Twitter and Facebook, but everything's built in. Most functions try to launch with as few taps as possible, into a sleek but ultra-fast UI. I can't think of what Josh might mean with 'clunky'.

Every operating system has cons, Windows Phone isn't the only one. Android is not as smooth as iOS/WP7, it's slightly complicated at times. iOS is very boring, the small screen annoys everybody. The only problems I really have with Windows Phone is a couple games I would like? to have and better resolutions. I would gladly give those up, though, for the extremely simple and fluid operating system, while keeping it fun and elegant.

The OS is an integral part of the overall experience you get from the device, and while some parts of it are just a matter of preference, other parts are totally measurable and comparable. No one is going to prefer an OS? because it has less apps, or flaky notifications, or restrictions that force manufacturers to let the specs stagnate. A reviewer who ignores these things won't be doing a good job of informing the customer on how to get the best experience.
