Don't lie. No Japanese car will ever match German quality. Even the LF-A or the Nissan GTR. They are great cars, but they just can't match the beauty of German interiors. My dad also owns a 3 series, and the interior looks fantastic. Had it for two years, still looks brand new. ? Don't get me wrong, Lexus is a good car company. But knowing that all you're driving is a fancy Toyota with an "L" badge slapped on is... disappointing.

Hmm. Having driven an IS-F, the interior quality (as? in 'will it fall apart?') is incredible. As for PERCEIVED quality, i.e nice finishes, real metal, soft touch plastic etc, it isn't great. Certainly behind Audi. But that's just my view having driven them.

The IS-F uses different materiel than the 350 and 250, but other than that,? you're right, they're all fairly similar. You need to check out the latest 3, the F30 series.

My IS is not particuliarly loaded. Anyways, all the interiors are basically same quality material, and you can't upgrade other than navigation or stereo. I directly compared the plastics and leather, and Lexus is better; the next better one would be an Audi. The interior quality is basically like this: Lexus > Audi > BMW. I don't know about the latest; the most recent I compare to? is 2010 and 2011.

Yes lexus has a better interior if you prefer bunch of buttons thrown all over the place without any logical order. As far as materials and fit and finish? go, BMW is far ahead. Lexus IS is no better than Toyota's in those terms, at least european model toyotas, because US models are complete trash.

If you're comparing a loaded IS to a stripped E90 3 series, the IS is just barely comparable. If the 3 series has the premium package, extended leather, iDrive, etc.. it looks 1000x better. Lexus? uses 90% cheap feeling plastic in the IS. If you're comparing an IS to the latest generation F30 3 series, even stripped down base model F30's use far superior materiel's and look a million times better than even the highest end IS-F.

The surprising thing is how good Lexus interiors look in pictures. I was 100% set on a Lexus IS-F.. until the day I test drove one. I was so excited about the car, I would have turned my head on a lot of faults, but it was SO bad that I left? that day in a terrible I just couldn't ignore everything. My dream car turned out to be chump. The plastics they use simply don't wear well. So sad. Otherwise, they would be awesome.

Dude even the cheapest BMW you can get (116i/d) has a better build quality than most middle class cars build in the US. It's all about quality. Not to mention the unbelievable reliability of the engines. But to be fair most engine failures over here are not the cars fault it's the drivers. ( I do n't even get this...why do so many people buy cars with? HUUUGE V8 engines when they cant even drive faster than 60 or 80 mph? Everybody knows that that stuff fucks up your car.)

No not really. Superchargers actually cause more stress on the motor because they are run by a belt and pully which is constantly putting tension on the motor. Turbo's are run off exhaust gasses which would normally be wasted going out the tail pipe. As long as you don't set the boost too high and you maintain the engine properly you shouldn't have problems. Also you need to run higher octane gas to avoid premature? detonation. There are turbo'd diesel motors with over 1 million miles on them.

Aww, you don't quite understand the term "rice-rocket" do you? You can claim the "ideology" of the ISF is the same all you want but what it comes down to is that the execution is *not* the same. It's a rice rocket because Lexus bolted on silly performance bits then sold it to dumb yuppies who wanted "the most expensive IS model they sell, bro!". M3 was built to race, just like the original M3. That's its purpose in life.? ISF's purpose is to be the top-spec IS. It's closer in nature to a 335i.

True except for: ISF *is* a sedan. It would smoke any BMW... except for the 1M, M3, 550i, M5, M6, and 760Li Alpina. Oh it can do 120-125? Wow, amazing. BMW's are *limited* to 155. If you had an ISF, the owners who went for? C63's, RS4/RS5's, M3s, 1Ms, and just about anything else in the price bracket would be laughing at your fake exhaust tips, silly bodykit & slower car. Heck, a Mustang GT will own this thing and at a significantly lower price point. And at least the Mustang isn't boring.

No, "your" still sort of wrong. M replace the majority of the components of the 3 Series with their own bespoke designed equipment, and they've been doing this for decades now. They have the heritage. Lexus might one day have it, but not with cars like the ISF. Consider the first attempt at the M3 versus the first attempt at the ISF and you might wrap your little mind around the true meaning of soul and pedigree in automotive terms. F's a ricerocket. The M division also build a specific motor and does extensive testing to find the perfect balance for the car. I love BMW but I don't undermine its competition. If I want something in this? bracket for the noise or pure straight line speed it would be the C63. Driving enjoyment? M3 every time. Interior quality? RS4. The 7yr old ISF design with its fake exhaust tips might factor in if it was half the cost but it isn't. It makes no sense in business or driving terms. Crap car.

It's valid to criticise a car on its subjective shortcomings, though. Especially sports cars. Elitist/purist types like myself are generally at least as interested in things like feel and feedback as we are in outright speed. In the latter regard, the current M3 is adequate for a car with 420 BHP (it'd be genuinely quick if it wasn't 200 kiilos overweight), but in? terms of the former, even if you can find one on 18's with a manual 'box, it's only so-so. It's nice and comfy, but it's no E30 M3.

off the top of my head i know the aussie model is 252kw which is roughly 340 hp. but also when boosting the power is more dependant on how much air is actually going through the motor rather than just the pressure on the intake. good engines such? as this one breathe a lot better than cheaper engines, which in-turn, lowers the intake pressure by "breathing" more quickly. if that makes any sense. air flow is a better measure. in the US they use cubic feet per minute (cfm) i think

everyone who prefers the m3 is simply a fanboy. the 1M is enjoyed because the driver is completely involved. And The 1M is virtually the same in all performance figures (beat the m3 in hockenheim), which BMW does not want to publicize. I? enjoy the sound of big engines as much as anyone (owned an M6 and 650) but the 1M is the closest thing to the E46 m3 which is maybe the truest of M cars. And You will not find a 1M for purchase, m3s are dime a dozen

if u get it right u can gas the throttle all the way down and let the wheel go and it won't rotate any more and just have the rear tires spinning like crazy then just start? to recenter the steering according to feel and boom you drifted with no incident but that's given you know how to control the car from oscillating the tail out but correctly positioned steering and throttle position

when you start oversteering, if you step on the brakes ull prolly die. if you stop pushing the throttle, you will slowly stop powersliding, if you? keep the same pression on the throttle your keep sliding with the same angle, if you step more on the throttle ull increase the angle of powersliding wich can leade to a 360 and a control loss

You should be able to drift with any car in the world. For example my mums car got about 80 or 90 hp (It's an old car so it probably lost some aswell) but when you stay in low gear & high revs and stear in perfectly you can drift it. You just gotta learn? to understand the car and how it reacts.
